Shameless Bragging.

This is Michaela.

She's been coming to my YA programs at the library since....since I became the Young Adult librarian, basically. Among other things she's been a book pirate, Professor Trelawney, Table Wrangler, Marshmallow Archer, Maker of Miraculous Yarn Creations, a great friend and an inspiration.

She just finished her first year at George Washington University in Washington DC and is leaving in a few minutes to go to GHANA to teach people about water purification with Community Water Solutions.

Her last stop before leaving? The library. How awesome is that? Almost as awesome as Michaela.

You can follow her adventures in Ghana on her blog The Wandering Texan.

Hey Michaela,

Coraline Trailer!

Here's the best trailer for Coraline so far. And it's actually Neil Gaiman's (he wrote the book) favorite! The movie comes out February 6th and I'll definitely be seeing it that weekend, so if you want to see it with me let me know and we can get a group of people to see it together! I know Kathleen and Mallory are already on board! dftba, Sti

I'll be posting brief descriptions of our activities, photos, book reviews, and other interesting things that I happen to see. In recent news: the TAG Christmas party was December 8, and everyone worked together to make it a success. Thanks to all the hardworking volunteers! We ate holiday snacks, sang Christmas karaoke, and had a snowball fight outside! Check out the library's Flickr site for all the pictures. We're taking a brief break during the Christmas holidays, but we'll be starting up again on January 11 with personalizing snack dishes to use every week. Instead of throwing away bowls and cups after our Fr...
