YA March Madness Returns!

Hey everyone! It's time for March Madness again!

If you'll remember, last year we voted on the best YA book, and y'all chose The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This year we're switching it up with a Heroes and Villains Showdown.

One one side of the bracket we have 8 heroes, on the other side 8 villains. Each week 2 heroes and 2 villains will be pitted against each other until we have the Ultimate Hero vs. the Ultimate Villain to see who wins and who falls.

This week the contenders are*:

Heroes

Katsa vs. Clary Fray

Percy Jackson vs. Ichigo

Maximum Ride
vs. Katniss Everdeen

Scott Pilgrim vs. Eragon

Villains

Voldemort vs. Artemis Fowl

Galbatorix vs. Mrs. Coulter

Valentine Morgenstern
vs. Saint Dane

Duke Roger vs. Kronos

The ballots are available in the library on the back side of the large black display wall (you can't miss it!), so come out and vote for your favorites!

If you're not familiar with a character, don't fret! Come in and check out our character sheets filled with info on each character, including background, strengths/abilites, weaknesses, a quote, and books that feature similar characters!

Summer is fast approaching and if you have a high school reader, you might be looking for new titles to engage them this summer. I also tried to pick materials that published in the last few years or will be published by June 2021. Preference to #ownvoices and marginalized authors. Below you'll find links to their lists broken up by grade level. Whether you know an avid reader who always...

Coraline Trailer!

Here's the best trailer for Coraline so far. And it's actually Neil Gaiman's (he wrote the book) favorite! The movie comes out February 6th and I'll definitely be seeing it that weekend, so if you want to see it with me let me know and we can get a group of people to see it together! I know Kathleen and Mallory are already on board! dftba, Sti
