Ready for a new book but not sure what you want to read? Try out YALSA(Young Adult Library Services Association)'s new mobile app Teen Book Finder (free at the Apple App store!) for some suggestions.
Once you find a book you're interested in you can favorite it to find later. Or you can find what area libraries carry the book!
Here's where things get a little confusing, once you click on the pin for a library (my pin is red because I'm at the library right now, yours will be green when you're at home) the app takes you to the OCLC webpage for the book then choose the library of your choice to be taken to that library's catalog.
If you're searching the Friendswood Library you'll find that the title of the book is not a link, click on the ISBN (on the left side) instead. And voila! The entry for your book, where you can see the status of the book and put it on hold if you like!
I really like this app, and I hope it helps you find some books you might not have found otherwise!
DFTBA,
Sti
p.s. The book I used as an example Where Things Come Back won the Printz and William C. Morris Awards and was written by the nephew of someone who works for the City of Friendswood! How neat is that?
Each day they feature 'Hot Picks' with different books in different genres.
